Mending Life Genesis

Pain brings change. The Bible sometimes calls pain “trials”. Going through trials produce endurance, and endurance results in completeness (James 1:3-4). Many things need to line up for pain to result in completeness… thinking, grit, attitude, sourcing help, support, humility, and so on. Otherwise pain can be the start to a depressive decline, a giving up on self, others and life, and an expectation that things just won’t work out… a loss of hope.

In my mid-50s, I lost a son, Levy, to drug addiction and suicide. The grief, blame, self-loathing, and despair shook me deeply as I wondered through tears what I should have done differently. Within 6 months, I lost a job in retail marketing of 25 years. Within a year, I lost a second job as a marketing manager. This is where endurance comes in. Because I had excellent support and knew the truth of God’s love, I didn’t quit, but refocused and found a new course. Years later, after certification as a Master Mental Health Coach, and completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, Mending Life is a reality. It is designed to bring hope and change to lives and relationships that produce endurance and the ability to be resilient, grow in faith, confidence, humility, and character.
